sipping chocolate
/3 Comments/in daily drawing /by Nidhi Chananii’m still on break but i wanted to re-share some of my favorite images. ^_^ my mother-in-law and i were talking about this hot cocoa called sipping chocolate once last year… a few days later i created this illustration.
there are days when i am truly happy with an image and this is definitely one of them – i love the play of small and large, the steam coming off the mug and the look the bear and girl are exchanging. there is so much story here – but there’s also story that the viewer can add. it’s one of the things i love the most about art.
i can create this illustration, but you can create the rest. what do you think happens next?

my new website!
/5 Comments/in news /by Nidhi ChananiI’m so excited to share my shiny new website with you – everydayloveart.com! After a couple of months of data transfer, uploading, adjusting, and testing it’s finally ready for your eyes ^_^ Now you can order prints directly from my site and (drumroll please) I am now offering smaller (8×10) prints! All of my greeting cards, magnets and other products are also available. And my absolute favorite is the new Pick a Print feature – because I have over 500 images that grows daily, it sometimes takes away from creating new work to always add items to my shop. Now you can order a print from the past, or one that I’ve just created by typing in the title!
But that’s not all, I invite you to take a minute and look at the new site ^_^ I kind of love it, what do you think? ^_^
watercoloring
/3 Comments/in creative process, daily drawing, news, originals, watercolors /by Nidhi Chananii am somewhat like a cat – curious and attracted to shiny, new things. as an artist i feel the same attraction to new things but often i don’t find the time to explore those desires. as i look forward in my career and life i want to be able to evolve with my work, to go where the art takes me. as much as i direct it, it also directs me. over the past year i’ve been very attracted to watercolor. the indian student in me kept saying “i need to take a class” and the nidhi in me said, “just try it!” so i did – armed with what i know about art already, some good paint and some not-so-good brushes ^_^
these are my results, and the trio of framed pieces will be available at trickster in berkeley. (grand opening this friday & saturday)
