meet m
this is m, my first custom vinyl toy. i had so much fun painting this lil’ animal. special thanks to my dear friend and everyday love team member, donna, for giving me the blank vinyl 3 years ago! it took awhile to get around to painting, but now i’m addicted. i hope to make more this year.

final saturday school
at the beginning of 2013 i set out to create hand lettered hindi art every week. my year took an unexpected turn and i made 37 out of 52 weeks. one of the lessons i learned last year is that nothing is certain. it is okay to attempt, to hope, to try. i am happy with what i created and working with my mom was part of the joy.
through the year i kept thinking about creating an alphabet but i wasn’t ready. i needed the experience of hand lettering those 37 before i could create this…Â i feel it truly captures my feelings about hindi and the beauty of language.
this is my last saturday school post, thanks for joining me on this journey.
when i read
it was my mom’s love for books that led me to love reading. because of her i know i can always find great hope, adventure and emotion in books. when i read i can imagine another world. when i read i learn to appreciate this world. most of all when i read i remember days and nights sitting beside my mom, reading.
