my kitty love

Our kitty Zimmy has been going through a host of health issues. I am trying be realistic while maintaining hope.

Meanwhile, I will be exhibiting at the Menlo Park Library Comicon on Saturday – please come by if you’re around! And today my first auto bio #comic was released on the Nib.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Belle (sold)

The rescuers – available

Esmeralda – available

Pocahontas – available

Mickey and Minnie – available

It’s been a whirlwind of traveling back and forth from southern California – I’ve finished five watercolors while signing, meeting loads of wonderful people and catching up with old friends. Thank you to everyone who’s come to say hi! This Friday and Saturday will be the last of my Disney residency – I’m planning on painting Alice in Wonderland and Lilo and Stitch. If you’re around I hope you’ll swing by! For now these are only available as originals and if Wonderground Gallery receives enough requests they will make them into prints.

If you’re interested in purchasing these originals you can! They come framed, matted and each is priced at $600. WonderGround Gallery can take orders via email at: merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com  or by telephone at: 877-560-6477.  Just let Mail Order know that they are interested in the Nidhi Chanani artwork from WonderGround Gallery West and they would be happy to let them know if it’s currently available.

After I return I’ll switch into Emerald City Comicon gear! I’ll be in Seattle at the show from March 2-5, booth 409 and on five panels. I’ll post more about that soon. For now I’ll take a tiny break.

I hope you have a great week!

I am inspired by the women choosing to march this Saturday. Due to my upcoming schedule (I will be away for 5 weekends in a row) I am choosing to spend the day with my family. However, I created a poster for free download.

You can grab it in 3 different sizes:

11×14 | 16×20 | 18×24

We will get through this – with love.

playing and painting

The hubbahubba and I have been together for nearly 15 years. I recall hearing him play guitar in college and feeling chills. There’s this beautiful undercurrent in our relationship – we flow in and out of a constant conversational stream about music and art.

During the first part of our relationship he had a band. He met some sweet guys and they wrote original songs, practiced, invested in studio recording time, produced albums, loaded in and out of shows (playing to hundreds and sometimes a dozen), promoted and pursued his dream.

I watched from the sidelines and supported him wherever I could… He stepped away from his dream to breathe and I began chasing my own dream. I practiced, created original art, invested in supplies and inventory, produced prints and cards, loaded in and out of countless shows (often with zero sales and sometimes with dozens of sales), promoted and pursued my dream.

Part of why we make so much sense is our experience pursuing artistic dreams and supporting each other through the years.

To celebrate our upcoming anniversary, I will be creating music themed work this week.

Here’s to many, many more years of playing and painting together. ^_^
